This section provides a selection of apps and websites that can be used in the classroom to develop students’ academic literacy skills. eBooks in Maltese and English are available for students and they are levelled according to the reader’s competence level. Their interactivity makes it enjoyable and educational for children of different ages. Such digital tools boost students’ engagement and help them develop a love for reading. Technology used as a tool for reading can supplement the skills being taught, engage students more and allows them to take charge of their own learning.
Maltese obooks for all levels
All students in Years 4, 5 and 6 have access to a levelled reading library in Maltese to be used in class and at home. Teachers can also monitor students’ progress and check compehension by means of a short quiz after each book.

Literacy Pro, currently available for Year 6 students, is a reading app which provides students with suitable books for their level and interest. Teachers can also assign different books to students.
